Roads. Linda will vote to make sure money is allocated to fix the roads and the work gets done.
Parking. Linda will vote against any attempt to bring back paid parking.
Finances. Linda is a fiscal conservative who will work to balance the budget and cut where necessary. No taxes without specific items and sunset clause. Linda supports Prop 13 and opposes all efforts to weaken it.
Transparency. Linda will always vote to benefit the public interest and make sure that the process is open and fair.
Linda is retired has no business interests, no conflicts and will be fair and objective on all issues coming before the council. She will prioritize keeping the local charm, working for the local citizens and making sure the interests of Downtown merchants are taken into account.
Other issues:
I24 Sales tax and Bond– we need the money to repair roads but it is poorly written without a sunset clause and may be defeated. It should be redone to have an end date and specify the money does not go into the general fund.
Homelessness – give police authority to deal with criminal activity, get counseling, obtain financial assistance and make sure addicts get the help they need.
Affordable Housing – this take a partnership with developers, the city, obtaining grants, getting help from the Paso Robles Housing Authority and using city owned land.
